Imagine the positive power of aligning awareness
with what we think, say, and do.

January 2025
By Lorraine Alexander

In the whirlwind of the first chapter of the new year, we can easily feel fragmented—our thoughts can scatter, our plans don't seem to land as intended, and our actions seem disconnected from our true desires. But what if there was an easy way to bring thoughts, words, and actions back to harmony?

In essence—when our inner and outer worlds 'sync-up' with our authentic desires, we experience a state of coherence. This state fosters clarity, inner peace, authenticity, and awareness, enriching every aspect of life.

Be authentic
People are drawn to individuals that exhibit balance in thoughts, words, and actions. They have achieved balance in their internal landscape, along with their external expression that is seen in the world. In other words, they are authentic. True to their personality, values, and spirit, regardless of pressures to act otherwise. They are consistent in thoughts, words, and actions, and assume responsibility for their mistakes.

Authenticity is a hallmark of personal growth and maturity, indicating that we are living with intention by honoring our core principles. Being authentic sets a positive example, and inspires others to pursue greater self-awareness and authenticity in their own lives. In this state of alignment, we can navigate obstacles with greater ease. And as our inner harmony expands, we experience deep and enriching relationships and interactions

Live in a state of flow
When our thoughts, words, and actions are aligned, we experience an undeniable ease and flow. Life becomes fulfilling and meaningful.  As we honor our core values, we live life with intention, our actions become purposeful, and life flows with greater ease.

As awareness deepens, our thoughts, words and actions become more intentional, and powerfully aligned with purpose. Then, we become the best versions of our authentic selves.

"Life is like a mirror, it reflects back to the thinker what he thinks into it.” — Earnest Holmes"

In the past months, we've posted a progression of three related articles:
1) Be the Architect of Your Well-Being—the science behind the Law of Attraction.
2) Raise Your Vibration: Embrace a New Paradigm—the importance of the Law of Vibration.
3) From Flow to Fulfillment—the difference between Awareness, Intuition, and Higher Knowing.

Fall is a majestic season and a perfect time for self-reflection. Much like the trees that shed their autumn leaves, we can release the patterns that hold us back by embracing a fresh beginning.

Recently, we covered the Law of Attraction, followed by the Law of Vibration. This month, we shine the spotlight on three deserving topics.

In our quest to understand ourselves and the world around us, we often come across the terms awareness, intuition, and higher knowing. While these concepts may seem similar, there are fundamental differences. Here's a brief comparison.

Whether we want to achieve success in our careers, improve health or relationships, reach personal goals, live a happy life, or find deep spiritual fulfillment, the key to success lies in our ability to align mind, body, and spirit, with a desired outcome. Simply put, the Law of Attraction states that our thoughts, actions, and feelings manifest as our life experiences. The energy we put out to the universe is directly linked to what we attract. When we are the driving force: anything is possible.

Canadian-born, Bob Proctor is a prime example of how we can change our paradigm. At 26, he found himself without a high-school diploma; he had great difficulty finding a job. With a burning desire to rise beyond his meager beginnings, he took random side jobs. Then Proctor made one bold and fortunate decision that changed his life forever. He moved to Chicago to receive first-hand tutoring with Earl Nightingale. This coaching arrangement was life-changing, and Proctor prospered.

This article includes:
  1. a brief history of meditation in the U.S.
  2. the difference between meditation and mindfulness
  3. the CDC's report on popularity and growth in the U.S.
  4. four user-friendly forms of relaxation
  5. an easy-to-understand reference guide to relaxation
  6. examples of how to easily blend mind-body relaxation into your day
  7. a comparative medical study which defines the advantages of non-directive meditation

1) A brief history

Over 100 years ago, in 1920, Swami Paramahansa Yogananda arrived from India to give his first speech in America. Five years later, he returned to be welcomed by LA’s limelight at the Philharmonic Auditorium. There was hesitation and concern, yet Yogananda felt sure he would be well-received by open minds, and he was right. The people of Los Angeles flocked to see Yogananda speak—not a single seat was vacant. The enthusiastic audience of 3,000 filled the hall to capacity; thousands were turned away.

Life is a Balancing Act

At a very young age, I learned one of life’s toughest lessons: No matter how well life seems to be going, you can count on a few curveballs coming just around the corner.

Most often we are not prepared for life's surprises, then suddenly, we find ourselves knocked off balance. Regaining balance can take more effort than one might expect—and that’s where resilience comes in. I learned one difficult lesson extraordinarily well, the more I focused on self-care the easier it was to regain my balance.

Think of life from an athlete’s perspective. The more consistent the training, the easier the recovery. The primary difference is that you are training for resilience.

Developing resilience naturally.

Balance isn’t something we learn from a best-selling book; it’s cultivated through daily practice. The formula is simple. Take care of the body, mind, and spirit, and you’ll feel balanced and become resilient in the process. Know that cultivating 'self-awareness' is the key ingredient. Awareness allows us to read subtle cues.

DASA Meditation The Secret to Peak Performance

The truth is that you can’t effectively support higher needs in others if you’re not first satisfying them in yourself. —The Cult Branding Company

This month we are pleased to share highlights from a timeless business article we found posted back in 2017 by The Cult Branding Company on personal growth, performance, and self-actualization. This short read is full of wisdom for those who want to advance in the workplace.

Article excerpt: The Cult Branding Company

Maslow’s Simple Secret for High Performing Business

"
Successful businesses like Southwest, Google, Zappos, The Container Store, and Netflix tap into basic and higher needs not just for their customers, but for their employees. These organizations don’t just create jobs; they attract talented people looking for vocations where they can find greater meaning in their work.

Google’s culture pushes their employees toward self-actualization. They maintain values like, “It’s best to do one thing really, really well,” and “Great just isn’t good enough.” One way they support this value is through their Search Inside Yourself program that teaches employees how to meditate to gain better focus and improve their emotional intelligence.

"There is the mud, and there is the lotus that grows out of the mud. We need the mud in order to make the lotus." —Thich Nhat Hanh

Hope Rises

Many of us focus on the broken, undone, or what's missing in life. This message offers hope and the opportunity for a new beginning.

COVID is by far one of the darkest storms we have encountered in our lifetime. And as the crippling effects carry into the third year, it's natural to pause and ask: What will the future hold?

During difficult times, we choose to look through one of two lenses. The first lens is fear, uncertainty, and judgment; the second is a lens of love, acceptance, and hope for the planet and humanity.

Look for a global rise in awareness.
Looking past the chaos of the media, we continue to see an abundance of online courses, books, videos, and articles, directed toward a movement to awaken our consciousness. We see more people speaking out—and reaching out to help their fellow man. This offers us hope that out of this mud, together we will rise to a higher state of being.

For the many of us who believe in a higher power, there is a simple yet profound quote by Thich Nhat Hanh, "No mud, no lotus."  In essence, the lotus must transform by rising, struggling upward through the mud to reach a new beginning, a higher level of development, expansion, and growth of awareness.

Now is the time to comfort others by being fully present. Make them smile, say something special, gently reassure them. This is something known as being a "frequency holder," a term coined by Eckhart Tolle.

Doctors report that 75% of all illness is caused by stress. Yet, we walk through each day unaware of the stress response, a warning signal that calls out for rest, relaxation, and balance.
By Lorraine Alexander
Resilience by definition is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties. The pressures of life continue to mount, especially in the workplace. Stress management techniques preserve the quality and longevity of life.

Today's world is multifaceted, and stress pervades our life each and every day. Traffic builds, three jobs are funneled into one, financial pressure increases as housing costs rise, violence dominates our schools, social pressures rise, there is a mounting sea of new technology,  moreover, we have an uncertain future with climate change. As a teacher of meditation and mind-body wellness, I see firsthand the impact of these stressors.

This article will answer three vital questions:
  • How does stress affect the body?
  • Can stress be held at bay?
  • What steps can be taken to restore health and happiness?
